- Abstract
The article attempts to determine whether the founding of Vancouver Stock Exchange (VSE) in British Columbia was characterized by the manipulation of unscrupulous promoters trying to fleece the lambs or the VSE was founded by members of the business and social elite in Vancouver aimed at improving the trading of company shares. Topics covered include themes relevant to the evolution and demise of the VSE at the end of the 20th century and role of the VSE in the making of Vancouver.
