- Authors
Gaines, Kaye K.
- Abstract
The author highlights the current state of health care reform which mandates health insurance for all individuals. She discusses several reports including the CDC report, which showed that no state met the nation's "Healthy People 2010 goal" of lowering obesity rates to 15 percent, which is the major cause for increase in risk of heart diseases. Findings also noted that U.S. spends a high amount of gross domestic product (GDP) on health care indicating the need to control obesity.
