May-June 2006: "I Am a Camera".
- Authors
Schneider Jr., Richard
- Abstract
The editorial focuses on this visual arts theme issue of "Gay & Lesbian Review." The author questions the stereotype of gay people being artistic, the sexual orientation of artists, and the meaning of the label "gay art." The homoerotic aspect of David Hockney's art is mentioned, as well as the"queer" world of GLBT people and the "gay sensibility" of Henry James. In the next issue, the theme will be music and whether it can be considered "gay," excluding lyrics, or if it is affected at all by the composer's sexual orientation.
