Equality in the Balance.

- Abstract
This article focuses on the importance of the 2000 elections in the U.S. to GLBT people. There is a very stark contrast between the major party presidential candidates in their attitudes toward gay and lesbian civil rights. George W. Bush has avoided the question at every turn. Al Gore, on the other hand, has already demonstrated his support on a wide range of issues of enormous importance to the GLBT community. Winning control of the House of Representatives would reveal very rapid and positive benefits for the GLBT community. If Democrats won back the House, they would continually support hate crimes legislation and the Employment and Non-discrimination Act.
