- Abstract
The article presents the results of study, which was performed with the aim to disclose respondents' attitude to the role of non-formal and informal learning validation in the tourism sector, hotels sub-sector in particular. The survey, which performed in this study, demonstrated that evaluation and recognition of competences acquired through non-formal and informal learning would be important to the respondents' career because it allows them to changing a job or taking a new position. The results of the study also proved the need for evaluation and assessment of non-formal and informal learning in tourism sector as well as disclosed the fact that there is a lack of information about possibilities to have competences, acquired in the environment other than formal education, evaluated and recognised.
