- Authors
Armston-Sheret, Edward
- Abstract
The article explores a case of syphilitic incontinence during the Jackson-Harmsworth expedition led by British explorer Frederick Jackson to the Arctic archipelago of Franz Joseph Land in the late 1890s. It discussed the deterioration of the mental and physical health condition of expedition ship captain A. Schlosshauer, the impact of the diagnosed incontinence on the expedition, and the publication of Jackson's book "A Thousand Days in the Arctic" which failed to mention Schlosshauer.
