- Authors
RENAUD, E. B.
- Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between Indian culture and religion. The author details the cultures and religions of several groups of Indians in North America, including the gatherer culture of Indians in southern California, who most likely did not have anything that could be considered religion, and the nomadic hunter culture, which had mythologic tales, hunting and war dances, and spiritual healing rituals. The connection between the type and degree of advancement of culture and the development of religion is analyzed.
