- Title
SOME SURPRISES AT THE WILSON RUINS IN SAN JUAN COUNTY, UTAH.
- Authors
LEH, LEONARD L.
- Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the ruins of the Wilson site in San Juan County, Utah, discussing the classification of the settlement within the Pueblo II and III periods. Details are given outlining the initial excavation of the site by T. Mitchell Prudden, highlighting his theory that the settlement manifested three separate historical community stages. Comments are given noting the classification and surveying of architectural structures and pottery artifacts, suggesting an alternative theory that the entire community was actually produced within a single span of the Pueblo III era.
