- Abstract
The article discusses the rhetoric of Rastafarian Jamaican deejays during the 1970s, with a particular focus on the social and political aspects of their rhetoric. The relationship between Jamaican reggae music and the Rastafarian movement, including in regard the Rastafarian religion's place in Jamaican popular culture and the influence of the Rastafarian movement on reggae songs, is discussed.
