- Abstract
This article presents information about the past 30 years of the National Library of Jamaica (NLJ). The West India Reference Library had been in existence for many years when it was converted to the NLJ in 1969. The article notes that one of the NLJ's major accomplishments was in drafting and enacting the legal deposit statute that would help the library to build its national collection. The intention of the NLJ is to collect all print and non-print publications about Jamaicans and by Jamaicans.
