- Abstract
The article examines a study by Eva Rittweger and colleagues on the high-resolution imaging of individual colour centres in diamond using the stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy. Researchers presented images of colour centres and showed that they have the capability to resolve such emitters, even if they came apart. It is concluded that STED microscopy will become workhorse in optical studies of densely packed solid-state emitters in general.
