- Abstract
The Dukeminier Awards Journal has dedicated its latest volume to Chuck Williams, the founder of the Williams Institute, in recognition of his support for LGBTQ legal scholarship. The journal has announced the winners of the Dukeminier Prizes, which recognize outstanding achievements in recent legal scholarship on sexual orientation and gender identity issues. The winning articles include topics such as name changes for transgender individuals, the separation of church and market, sexuality and human rights, and the experiences of BlaQueer individuals. The journal also awarded winners for its annual Student Writing Competition, which focused on topics such as critical race theory and the child welfare system. The selection process involved a committee of legal scholars and student editors who reviewed and evaluated the articles based on their originality, impact, academic rigor, and quality of research and writing.
