- Abstract
The article focuses on marine snow history, an oceanic water phenomenon featuring the discoveries prior the end of 20th century. Topics discussed include the developments early 1800s such as the use of diving vehicle Bathysphere by biologist William Beebe, the a pioneering research by Japan early 1950s on mucous-rich particles using Kuroshio chamber and the recreational technology using self contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA) in 1960 by underwater photographer Jacques Cousteau.
