- Authors
Rio, David
- Abstract
The article examines how "Nevada Days," a novel from Basque author Bernardo Atxaga offered an alternative and more complex view of Nevada and the U.S. West. Topics covered include ways by which Atxaga rejected one-sided or exclusivist views of Nevada as the Other, power of nature as a recurrent theme in the novel, violent episodes or situations related to crime that appeared in the novel, and how Atxaga portrayed the Basque immigrants in Nevada and the U.S. West.
