- Abstract
The article focuses on the use of demons in the works of author Cormac McCarthy, including the books "Blood Meridian," "No Country for Old Men," and "All the Pretty Horses." The author explores McCarthy's use of determinism and agency in his fiction, analyzes the morals of several characters, and discusses the theory of determinism developed by scientist Pierre-Simon Laplace, known as Laplace's Demon.
