- Abstract
The article focuses on the debates concerning the costs and benefits of proton therapy. It states that proton therapy has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1988 and was routinely used to treat various types of cancers including pediatric brain tumors. Moreover, the National Health Service (NHS) in Great Britain is planning to invest £250 million to open two proton therapy centers in the country.
