- Abstract
The article presents approaches that could be used in blood centers to reduce risk. It mentions that the pan genera detection (PGD) test could be done in the blood center to transfer the burden of safety to the blood center from the hospital where continued utilization of the principles (cGMP) is already used in improving control and safety costs. It states that blood centers could inoculate all cultures of platelets (PLT) at 48 hours rather than 24 hours.
