- Abstract
The German Library Association (dbv) is concerned about the spread of misinformation regarding the handling of books in the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB) and the Hamburg Libraries. Criminal complaints have been filed in Hamburg and Dresden. The association emphasizes the importance of libraries as spaces of democracy and freedom of information and calls for strengthening their diverse offerings. The SLUB and the Hamburg Libraries have also published statements and filed criminal complaints. The German Library Association represents over 9,000 libraries with 25,000 employees and eleven million users and advocates for free access to information.
