- Title
Inflammatory monocytes damage the hippocampus during acute picornavirus infection of the brain.
- Abstract
The article offers information on a research that identifies the immune effectors that damages the brain during the acute viral infection of brain. It is mentioned that brain infections can lead to neurological deficits and the techniques of microscopy and flow cytometry were used for the identification of brain-infiltrating leukocytes. Also, for the research mice brain was infected with the Theiler's murine encephalomyelitis virus and it was observed that monocytes damages the hippocampus.
