- Abstract
The article presents a study that examined possible neurotoxicity of intrathecal injection of ropivacaine in rats. An overview is provided on local anaesthetics (LA), ropivacaine in continuous spinal anaesthesia, and the adverse effects of LAs in spinal anaesthesia. Methods are described including surgical procedure for intrathecal catheterization, neurological function tests, and perfusion fixation and tissue preparation. Results are discussed showing induced neurotoxicity with ropivacaine.
