- Abstract
The article discusses various intellectual property (IP) legal issues which could impact the U.S. marijuana industry as of 2016, and it mentions marijuana legalization and law reform efforts in various American states, as well as U.S. federal and state trademark and patent law protections. A U.S. federal legal prohibition against marijuana is addressed in relation to the passage of state marijuana laws in places such as Colorado. America's Controlled Substances Act is also assessed.
