- Abstract
A case study of congenital ventral thoracic spinal cord herniation is presented. A 53-year-old woman was presented with progressive bilateral leg weakness that was managed conservatively for eight years. Though the patient had no history of trauma, physical examination revealed severe gait impairment, spastic paraparesis, pyramidal distribution weakness and hyperreflexia in the lower limbs. Magnetic resonance imaging of the spine revealed a congenital ventrally displaced spinal cord.
