- Abstract
This article discusses the development of a tele-ultrasound program in Chile that aims to connect primary care centers in remote areas with specialist doctors in more complex centers. The program utilizes midwives trained in performing ultrasounds and digital technology to transmit high-quality ultrasound images to the specialist doctors for review and consultation. The study demonstrates the feasibility of this tele-ultrasound model, which allows for real-time advice, informed decision-making, and reduces the need for unnecessary patient transfers.
