- Abstract
In this issue of "Nachrichten aus der Chemie" (News from Chemistry), various research results are summarized. One article deals with the determination of isotope ratios using laser spectroscopy. A new technique allows for on-site analysis of nuclear fuels. Another article describes a new adsorbent material that can extract perfluorocarboxylic acids from aqueous samples. Additionally, the incorrect structure of a semiconductor is corrected, and Zintl phases with thallium are investigated. Finally, Lewis base adducts of neptunium and silylene with chalcogen substituents are discussed. Another article deals with a tin-containing alkyne. Various scientific studies and discoveries are summarized, including the cause of variability and lack of reproducibility in hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC), the production of smart putty, and the analysis of the crystal structure of methylaluminoxane (MAO). Other studies focus on simulating the hydrogen bonding of water dimers in electric fields and stabilizing nitrenes. Finally, the production of a diazophosphonium ylide, which can be used for carbon atom transfer, and the asymmetric hydrogenation of Schiff bases are reported.
