- Abstract
The article discusses the increased risk of malaria in elderly travellers due to their vulnerability to the environment and having a waning immunity or a reduced response to vaccines. Malaria is an acute febrile illness and an endemic in over hundred countries. The article also highlights the need for older patients to be targeted for pre-travel advice and recommendations on personal protection measures and appropriate chemoprophylaxis. INSET: KEY POINTS.
