In this article the author stresses the changing roles of the trial judge in the community, as being able to motivate and lead, which are qualities found in a chief executive officer (CEO). He claims that these changes may cause the rules of professional responsibility and the Code of Judicial Conduct to be reanalyzed. The author explains that a judge must maintain an honest reputation and must work through difficulties as an official for the state.
