Title
Self-Actualization in Sport.
Abstract
The article presents a summary of the study "Athletic involvement and aspects of self-actualization," by T. M. Schindler and M. Waters, originally published in the "Journal of Sport Behavior." The study found that men, unlike women, appear to need the athletic environment to self-actualize. Men, therefore, are affected by sport experiences and external contingencies to a greater degree than women.
