- Abstract
The article discusses the ocular manifestations of Behçet's disease (BD). The disease was first described in 1937 by Hulusi Behçet as a chronic multisystem disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of uveitis, oral aphthous lesions, genital ulcers and skin lesions, with underlying vasculitis. Ocular manifestations are usually reported in 70 to 95% of cases of the disease. Anterior uveitis is commonly observed in females while panuveitis is common among males.
