- Abstract
The article focuses on the need of developing the skill of predictive maintenance to carry out fluid analysis. It informs that the according to the Electric Power Research Institute, preventive maintenance saved 24 percent of the maintenance costs in comparison to reactive maintenance. It also informs that the way to identify the equipment that can be part of the program is to use a modified Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
