- Authors
Carter, Brian S.
- Abstract
In this article, the author reflects on the study by S. Lupashko and colleagues on the treatment of refractory status epilepticus related to Alper's disease using functional hemispherectomy. He states that the case made by Lupashko and colleagues needs an ethical analysis of appropriate, effective, and ethically justifiable palliative care. He also mentions that the case was focused on a goal the will determine that futility was not met quantitatively, physiologically or qualitatively.
