I. INTRODUCTION.
- Abstract
The article offers selective information about the evil eye, which is the belief in the human eye's ability to affect demonical ends. Beliefs about the evil eye and methods of avoiding its influence have been documented for child-rearing practices in various cultures. A philosopher stated that behind the fears and superstitious practices associated with the evil eye lies the envy of others and fear of others' envy. Related issues are discussed including the physiological basis of the pupillary reflex, pupillary conditioning and the physiological basis of time perception.
