- Abstract
Within the framework of a coupled thermomechanical problem, a simplified approach is developed to the vibration and dissipative-heating analyses of metallic structural members under harmonic loading in both micro- and macro-inelastic domains. The mechanical behavior of a material is described by means of complex moduli that depend on the strain-range intensity and are determined in both micro- and macro-inelastic domains. By an example of the resonant vibrations and dissipative heating of a sandwich beam, the amplitude–frequency characteristics of the field quantities and the behavior of the heating temperature are analyzed over a range of loads that includes both micro- and macro-inelastic domains
