- Authors
Makhortykh, Mykola
- Abstract
The rise of digital platforms transforms contemporary warfare by enabling new possibilities for monitoring war destruction, identifying human rights violations, and commemorating individual and collective suffering. However, to achieve these aims, it is important to ensure that war-related platform content is archived and preserved. Using Russia’s war in Ukraine as a case study, the article discusses challenges associated with the use of digital archiving for documenting and remembering modern wars and proposes a set of recommendations for preventing the disappearance of digital evidence of mass violence
