- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of embracing Organizational Ambidexterity (OA) in the Defense Acquisition System (DAS) to effectively balance innovation and the maintenance of existing weaponry. OA allows organizations to explore new opportunities while capitalizing on existing strengths. The article provides strategies for achieving OA, such as strategic alignment, dedicated resources, flexible organizational structures, risk management, open innovation ecosystems, agile development practices, long-term investments, and metrics and evaluation. Implementing OA in the DAS context requires a shift in mindset and organizational culture. The article emphasizes the need for best practices to drive innovation, competitiveness, and resilience in defense.
