- Abstract
Placing a spouse with dementia in a care facility can be a devastating decision, and the placement process can be disruptive and difficult for all involved. This case study explores dialectical contradictions experienced during the placement decision-making process, on the day of placement, and in the weeks following placement. Ways in which findings could be applied to support spouses at this difficult time are also discussed.
