- Abstract
This section provides information on the unique purposes of the sections of the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing. The Legal Developments Section seeks manuscripts that analyze important new court decisions, statutes and regulatory actions in the U.S. and abroad. Manuscripts contain rigorous legal analysis and implications for marketers, as well as critically comment on public policy implications. Meanwhile, the Policy Watch section publishes opinion pieces on the impact of a wide range of policy decisions on the field of marketing, which is broadly defined. When possible, several divergent perspectives on a specific legislative activity are published in the same issue, with a well-known scholar who has conducted research on the area acting as coordinator. All manuscripts are reviewed by the section editor, additional members of the scholarly community also may review manuscripts if deemed necessary. Finally, the Book Review section encourages critical reviews of books that address the interplay of public policy and marketing. Although these books tend to be authored by marketing scholars, books may originate in allied science or management disciplines. The content of reviews should emphasize a balanced appraisal and analysis of the merits of a book employing a scholarly and thought-provoking style.
