- Abstract
Gabion walls are generally used as a lightweight support structure alternative on sloping lands. It has many advantages due to its relatively cheap cost, flexible structure, easy transportation of the main material and flexible structure. Its dimensions can be easily adjusted according to the incoming lateral loads and do not include extra costs. It can be built in a short time in terms of workmanship and crushed stone, which is a natural material, is used. In our country, reinforced concrete protection walls are generally used as explosion protection walls. This customary use also includes building materials that are difficult to obtain in some regions. Rising costs have made reinforced concrete retaining walls virtually unbuildable. In this study, the reaction of Gabion Protection Walls under different explosion forces was investigated. The resistance forces that occur as a result of the impact of the explosion forces of various explosives on the gabion wall designed in a standard way and on a standard ground; Its behavior against rolling and overturning was modeled and analyzed with the Geo 5 Geotechnical design program.
