- Abstract
Introduction: It is important to know and manage techniques for the care of children, their vision of the world changes every day, each child is different, so you must be trained to provide the necessary care, not only oral, but also emotional, and with it, make dental treatment more complete, in terms of prevention and care. Pediatric dentistry implies understanding that it deals with something more than teeth, it deals with children, and their emotional stability and tranquility must also be taken into account to achieve a more comprehensive care. An alternative to reduce anxiety and favor greater cooperation of the child is music therapy. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of music therapy as support for the control and management of anxiety in pediatric dentistry with the application of the mandibular anesthesia technique Methodology: The research was carried out at the Pediatric Stomatology Postgraduate Clinic of the UASLP. Block randomized controlled clinical trial. Results: Music therapy during the placement of mandibular anesthesia helps the patient to reduce anxiety, thus improving their behavior during the infiltration of anesthesia. Conclusions: The application of music therapy has an important impact on the biological response, especially on the heart rate, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation of patients, so the results show that there is a significant difference, proving the hypothesis of this research.
