- Abstract
This study aims to explore the most prominent roles of organizational leadership in the era of digital transformation at the level of human resources, operations, organizational strategies and regulations, as well as organizational culture. In order to achieve these objectives, an exploratory approach based on reviewing the relevant literature is adopted. The study reveals important roles for the leadership of organizations in the era of digital transformation. At the level of human resources, some leadership roles emerged such as adopting skills consistent with the needs of the digital age, a good understanding of how teamwork, including remote work, virtual work teams, and communication via electronic platforms. At the operational level, several roles emerge, such as increasing interest in developing operations by simplifying procedures in all business areas, and adopting modern business models capable of enhancing business. Regarding the organizational strategies, some roles include formulating a strategy for digital transformation, and aligning the digital transformation strategy with the organization’s strategy. At the level of organizational culture, several roles have arisen such as adopting the principles of change management, adopting principles of transparency throughout the organization, and seeking to fulfill the requirements of digital transformation and moving quickly towards digitalization.
