- Abstract
The article features the study done by ZweigWhite Information Services LLC on the impact of the economic downturn on the labor industry in Wayland, Massachusetts. Result shows that half of architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firms laid off employees in 2008, despite unchanged profit margins from 2007 to 2008. Ian Rusk of ZweigWhite said that some firms are reluctant to release its employees because they believed that it is hard to find and develop staff when business is good.
