- Title
IMPUTATION AND THE CHRISTOLOGY OF UNION WITH CHRIST: CALVIN, OSIANDER, AND THE CONTEMPORARY QUEST FOR A REFORMED MODEL.
- Authors
Garcia, Mark A.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the imputation and the Christology of union with Christ. Andreas Osiander, a Lutheran, uses 1 Corinthians 1:30 in defense of his thesis that God himself and Christ in his divine nature is the righteousness of justification. Theologian John Calvin uses the same verse when clarifying the benefits of being saved that come in being with Christ. It stresses that union with Christ must be explained and not just be asserted.
