- Abstract
The structure formation in aqueous solutions of LiCl, LiCl : nH2O (n = 3.15, 8.05, 14.90), under conditions of isothermal compression (T 523 K, P 100-1500 bar) was studied by the method of integral equations. Isothermal compression only weakly affects the structure of the bulk solvent. Irrespective of the solution concentration, tetrahedral ordering of water molecules is absent in the entire pressure range, and the number of O-H bonds does not change noticeably. In all the solutions, compression slightly enhances the coordinative power of both ions. The content of hydration-separated ion pairs somewhat grows, and the content of contact ion pairs slightly decreases.
