- Title
WHY DEAD MEN DON'T PRAISE GOD: A POST-HOLOCAUST RECKONING IN THE POETRY OF GLATSTEIN AND OSHEROW.
- Authors
Plank, Karl A.
- Abstract
The article presents an intertextual study of the association between Psalm 115:17 and the poems "Dead Men's Praise," by Jacqueline Osherow and "Dead Men Don't Praise God," by Jacob Glatstein. It outlines the verse 17 of Psalm 115 which stresses that the dead cannot praise the Lord. It states that Jewish poets Glatstein and Osherow address issues concerning the perception of the holocaust's aftermath.
