- Abstract
The article focuses on the study regarding the role of novel protein haponin in cell response to oxidative stress. The study created a panel which includes cell lines overexpresing wild-type haponin in parallel with green fluorescent protein (GFP), cell lines overexpressing haponin fused to GFP, and cells with reduced levels of haponin expression due to short interfering RNA. It reveals that haponin overepxression increases human embryonic kidney (HEK)-293 cells sensitivity to oxidative stress.
