Commentary: overcoming antibiotic resistance with Helicobacter pylori therapy - optimisation is the way forward.
- Authors
Molina‐Infante, J.; Gisbert, J. P.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the study conducted by F. Sierra and colleagues on innovative miscellaneous therapy for Colombian patients infected with Helicobacter pylori. The authors state that high-dosage of metronidazole was administered in the whole therapy and high-dose acid-suppressive therapy in the dual period to enhance bacterial replication to prevent H. pylori persistence. The lack of antimicrobial susceptibility information of the first-line therapies is the main limitation of the study.
