- Title
Amygdalar volume alterations in children with Tourette syndrome: are they due to ADHD comorbidity?
- Authors
Greenlee, Mark W.
- Abstract
The author comments on a study which examined the bilateral differences in amygdalar volume among 17 males with Tourette syndrome (TS). Study researchers found that eight of the patients also exhibited signs of attention-deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The author reveals that the study results agree with a voxel-based morphometric magnetic resonance imaging study. However, he claims that larger clinical trials are needed to identify the extent of amygdala changes and their relationship with ADHD.
