- Abstract
Technological development and urbanization promoted an increase in residential electricity consumption. Therefore, the search for energy sustainability is directly associated with thermal comfort and requires changes in civil construction. This research aimed to evaluate the thermal conductivity of structures in built environments, enabling changes in buildings and new projects in civil construction. The qualitative and quantitative methodology evaluated the thermal conductivity in the surroundings of buildings, to obtain the heat transfer rate by conduction in different types of materials. The method used in the calculations was the Fourier Law, with an evaluation of the external and internal temperature of the environments using a thermometer with an infrared sensor. The results show better thermal performance in envelopes with material composition, contributing significantly to reduce the heat transfer by conduction in the environment. It is concluded that the use of a system composed of different materials can be an alternative to promote thermal comfort and energy sustainability in the building.
