- Abstract
The article discusses the third annual report on the state of the environment entitled "Environmental Quality - 1972" by the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) on August 8, 1972. It states that the report is remarkably detailed, giving environmental indicants for the quantitative measurement of air and water pollution, pesticide use, toxic substances, land use and wildlife. The report also offers a comprehensive examination of U.S. federal and state pollution regulations their implication, and estimate of the present and future costs and economic impacts of environmental improvement.
