The article presents a case study of woody-plant species at tropical dry forests in South Florida. It highlights their endangerment as well as spectral indices and landscape metrics which are used for anticipating their richness. It also outlines the application of Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) satellite images and normalized-difference vegetation index (NDVI).
