- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the disturbance made by feral horses (Equus caballys) in Great Basin from 1997-1998. It shows that disturbance-sensitive variables segregated horse-removed and horse-occupied species, even though reciprocal averaging suggested relationship influenced by biogeography. It recommends developing an expanded monitoring strategy based on disturbed-sensitive variables that more reflect the effects imposed by a large-bodied grazer on mountain ecosystems.
